The last Holden....a celebration in Moruya

On Friday 20 October 2017, the very last Australian-made car rolled off the production line in Adelaide, South Australia. No more Holdens, Toyotas, Mitsubishis, Fords or other cars once manufactured here. The car industry has been a victim of globalisation, the end of tariff barriers, the end of government subsidies, and changed taste in cars.

On Saturday, the Holden dealership in Moruya held an exhibition of old Holdens.

This is an iconic model - the FJ. It was produced from 1953 to 1957. It was based on the first model, the FX.
