Recently we had an extremely windy day. At first I thought the strange sky was bushfire smoke, but it was not - just our precious topsoil blowing off. With Australia's very fragile soils, the loss of topsoil through land clearing and development is a major concern.

There needs to be a moratorium on such things, but unfortunately politicians are too easily led astray by developers with deep pockets.
