Home - the aftermath Part 1 (6 Jan 2020)

All pretty good out the front

The fire came from behind the house and the front was fine. The cobwebs were black with soot!

The grass all around the street library was burnt, but the library was still
standing!

Next door burned down.

Our flowering gum put on a nice display.

Mum's car was untouched, started and drove perfectly. But the grass underneath was burnt!

Our house had some damage on the side next to the house next door, which burned down.

The retaining wall burnt, a Bird's Nest fern didn't make it, and wheelie bins melted into the concrete

Melted wheelie bins and contents

Damage to our roof.

Next door

Our solar inverters

We were without solar power for about 6 months. The insurance co paid the claim very rapidly, but the workers couldn't fix it until we were clear of asbestos which came from next door.

Downpipes

Melted downpipe and window weather strips
The other down pipe

Three melted worm farms.

Next door

My newly planted hedge of callistemons (bottlebrushes) fell victim
